About

Outreach House II is an alcohol and drug addiction treatment facility that is located at 400 Crooked Hill Road in Brentwood, New York. Treating substance abuse involves multiple stages of treatment through a recovery program such as that offered by Outreach House II. This can include group counseling, individual counseling, outpatient treatment, inpatient treatment, and medically assisted detox, among many others. Treatment programs are based on the individual themselves and are constructed to suit each patient individually. Just as every person is unique, so should treatment programs and that is exactly what patients will receive at Outreach House II.

If addicts do not obtain the right type of support and guidance, they may find treatment to be very difficult as the thought of sobriety can seem so far-fetched. At Outreach House II, professional counseling and guidance are provided to all patients aged Adolescents, giving them the strength needed in order to obtain a life that is free of drug and alcohol addiction. By altering the patient's outlook on life through addiction treatment, they will be able to stay positive throughout the duration of rehab.

The staff members at Outreach House II have a mission and that is to give patients effective and quality addiction treatment so that long-lasting sobriety can be obtained. The path to a positive future starts on a positive foot and that begins at Outreach House II. Confronting addiction is a difficult thing to do, but it is the most important step in the recovery process. Through professional counseling during the patient's time in treatment, patients will learn coping skills and trigger management which is imperative to the success of maintaining sobriety.

Maintaining sobriety on one's own is extremely difficult, especially when the addict has tried to go 'cold turkey' on their own. This is because it requires medically-assisted detox in order to properly and safely wean the body off of the substance of abuse. This way the body does not go through sudden withdrawal nor experience harsh side effects. Outreach House II can provide patients with all of the necessary tools, treatments, and resources so that patients have every opportunity to succeed in recovery.

Getting treatment is the best option when seeking a life that is free of substance abuse. Get the help required now and start living the best life possible. Contact Outreach House II by visiting www.opiny.org now.

My son is currently a resident in Early Treatment phase at OH in Brentwood, NY. I am a widow with four children and all of us reacted differently when my husband was killed. Unfortunately for one of my sons, he turned to drugs and an undesirable group of individuals to hide or mask his pain. It was HEART BREAKING (to say the least) to watch him disintegrate from a tall, muscular, handsome talented athlete to a slow, lazy, skinny pot - head. I feel horrible describing him that way, but he would say it himself. He is so thankful for the help that he is receiving at OH 2. The staff CARES about these children (ages 12-18 I believe is the oldest resident) and the staff WANT THEM TO SUCCEED. When a resident "graduates" the program (it is rigorous and to reach Graduation status, you must complete a lot of self reflection, display that you are committed to working on yourself as both a contributing member of society and being the best YOU possible) it is a celebration! I have been lucky enough to share one graduation so far (I can't believe this is only P's fourth week in the program- it seems as if he has been there longer at times but right now it feels less for some reason???) The residents/students are always going on great field trips, which is something that shows them you CAN have a great, fun-filled time SOBER. Everything they do has a reason behind it. I just truly hope that a Mom or Dad suffering through a difficult teen will read this and see that there is HOPE and there IS a future for your child......a SUCCESSFUL future is what I will expect when my son completes the program and when he entered.......I honestly don't know what was going to happen. He was smoking pot daily (under our ROOF where he has a twin brother and two younger sisters!!!) It was ripping me apart and stressing me out to the point where I could not (in my heart, in my opinion.....) effectively parent the other three children (again, I'm still grieving my husband~ it certainly makes it more difficult doing this as a widow AND from afar---we live about an hour from OH2. I sleep SO MUCH BETTER NOW at night knowing my son is SAFE and in GOOD HANDS......learning BASIC LIFE SKILLS that I could never have given him (they have room inspection in the morning, insuring their beds are made and their personal property is all neatly organized, etc.) I love the entire concept behind the program. This program made me realize that EVERYTHING happens for a reason and I'm SO THANKFUL (once again, sorry to be repetitive) to everyone at OH2 for taking such terrific care of our boy. THANK YOU with love, The M. Family from Long Beach ;-)

I can see that there are a couple of disgruntled former residents of Outreach posting negative comments and reviews about the food and the showers and whatever else. Im willing to bet that whoever posts something negative, never had what it took to put the work and effort in to graduate from this program. This review comes from someone who (at the time of my stay) far surpassed the record for length of stay at 19 months and 2 weeks. The staff at Outreach truely cares, and does everything they can to make sure you succeed not only through your treatment, but the rest of your life. When I entered Outreach House, I was a spoiled, selfish, drug addicted kid with very serious charges pending. I absolutely did NOT want to be there, but knowing what the alternative was, I decided to stick it out, and thank god I did. The staff helped me with every aspect of my recovery, from personal issues, to family problems, schooling, attitude, maturity, and overall decision making. The tools I left Outreach House with, have stuck with me even to this day. After graduating the inpatient treatment, as well as 6 months of aftercare, i did have a few slip-ups. I made some mistakes here and there, but Outreach gave me the ability to never be in denial about my situation. I always knew when I was making a bad choice, or being somewhere, or with someone I shouldnt be. The tools that were instilled in me over the course of my treatment have stayed with me after all this time. Today i have over 9 years clean and have no trouble with the law. I can honestly say that without Outreach, I know I would not be where I am today, if alive at all. So, when you read a review about the food (which by the way is very good in comparison to a hospital or especially jail/prison) or something that has nothing to do with the reason your child needs to be there, just pay it no mind. This place works. It worked for me, and I know of at least 6 or 7 of my peers who I was in Outreach with, who are still drug free to this day as well. Special thank you to John Venza, Michelle, Lisa, Melissa, Terry, Matt (Athletics director) Kelly, Lori, and really to all the staff at Outreach House. I never got to thank all of you as an adult for never giving up on me. My name is Brian Tracy, and Outreach House saved my life.

This is a chance for a stable life for kids who need to grow up and realize that following the rules can lead to a better life. It may not work for everyone but it is a GREAT place to get a second chance. Don't listen to people who complain about foot fungus. This is a chance to finish school and get ahead.
